Full Job Description:
We are currently recruiting for a Land & Measuring Surveyor for a permanent role within our organisation.
The role involves the undertaking of Topographical Surveys, Measured Building Surveys and setting out projects within Yorkshire and sometimes beyond.
Work will be both site and office based.
The candidate will use total station, GPS, 3D Laser Scanners, LSS software, AutoCAD & Cyclone knowledge would be desirable.
We are looking for enthusiastic people to build on their existing knowledge of surveying any level of experience will be considered and accordingly remuneration offered.

SENIOR QUANTITY SURVEYOR
LHL Group operate from three offices; York, Hull & Harrogate with the position being flexible to office location.

Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership role overseeing a team of Quantity Surveyors.
- Engaging in the delivery of Quantity Surveying services, ensuring they meet the highest standards of quality and efficiency.
- Managing costs and finances throughout various stages of various construction projects.
- Ensure reported data is accurate and kept up to date.
- Assist with procurement and management of sub-contractors.
- Ensure compliance with all aspects of the contract, liaise with the project teams on project status.
- Guarantee the financial success and quality delivery of construction projects through effective cost management, procurement, contract administration, risk management, and value engineering.
- Completing Reinstatement Cost Assessments
- Compiling budget cost and feasibility estimates.
- Supporting other colleagues within the multi-disciplinary practice.
Position Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years’ experience working in a similar role.
- Cost Control, Bill of Quantities, and Cost Management skills.
- Cost Planning and Cost Reporting skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Excellent client management and presentation skills.
- Good knowledge of building regulations and construction contracts.
- In-depth knowledge of contentious quantity surveying practices.
- Excellent time management and meeting deadlines.
- Ideally Chartered Status with the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) or similar.
- Full UK driving licence and use of your own vehicle with business insurance.
- Live within a commutable distance to either York, Hull, or Harrogate offices.

ARCHITECT / ARCHITECTURAL TECHNICIAN / TECHNOLOGIST

Key Responsibilities:
- Work on a variety of projects within the Commercial, Residential and Conservation sector.
- Working on all stages of assigned projects as part of a team and individually as required.
- Liaising with other members of the design team and clients developing a design brief.
- Managing numerous jobs simultaneously, producing working drawings/specifications and checking/amending similar work drafted by others.
- Preparing and submitting Planning Applications on a variety of projects.
- Producing high quality detailed technical drawing packages using AutoCAD (required) and ArchiCAD (Desirable) Software.
- Attending client/site meetings.
- Responding to site queries and resolving technical issues.
- You must have good working knowledge of UK Planning, Building Regulations & CDM regulations.
Position Requirements:
- Minimum 4 years’ experience working in a similar role.
- HNC/HND: 2 years min post qualification experience (required).
- Proficiency in AutoCAD essential (ArchiCAD desirable but not essential).
- Strong technical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

- Ability to work independently and within a team.

SENIOR CHARTERED BUILDING SURVEYOR
LHL are an industry leading construction and building consultancy based just outside York City Centre with offices also in Hull and Harrogate. We have recently landed some exciting new contracts guaranteeing workload for the next few years and thus are looking for a Senior Chartered Building Surveyor to join their highly successful building consultancy team
The successful Senior Building Surveyor will be working on a diverse range of instructions, covering both professional and project-based works across commercial, residential, education and retail sectors.
As the successful Senior Building Surveyor, you will be responsible for developing and mentoring graduate building surveyors through the APC process.
Roles:
- Project Management
- Contract Administration
- Schedules of Dilapidations
- Commercial Building Surveys
- Taking projects from inception through to completion
- Reporting to directors
Requirements:
- MRICS or MCIOB or MICE or MIStructE with over 1 years PQE
- Past experience working within a building consultancy
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
- Strong work ethic and able to work off own initiative
- Experience as a Principal designer would be advantageous
