Distinctive Systems, York
LHL Group were approached by Distinctive Systems, a private Software company based in York, with a brief to design and project manage the build of an extension to their head office in Clifton Moor Business Park.
Our Initial instruction involved producing a full planning application package for submission to City of York Council. Once this was successfully obtained, we were instructed further to provide a full tender package including detailed drawings, specification of works, and budget cost estimates ready to invite contractors to submit competitive tenders for the two-storey extension.
The works involved expanding their current office floor space by an additional 1,200 square feet. With the first floor of the new extension becoming a multipurpose meeting room. The ultra-modern, steel clad extension was designed in such a way to maximise natural daylight into the building.
The project was subject to a substantial value engineering process together with the successful contractor, Moody Construction Ltd, based in Northallerton, in order to bring the project to within the client’s budget. Once this was completed a contract sum was then agreed between the client and the contractor and works began on site.
The project was extremely technically challenging with the most significant challenge being able to incorporate the new, modern steel framed extension with the existing building. However hard work and dedication by all parties resulted in a successful project and an extremely happy client.
The project was completed in March 2021, the client was very pleased with the final result, the Managing Director of Distinctive Systems said “both Paul Hill and Rose have been phenomenal and very professional throughout the project. Rose is a formidable adversary to any contractor”.
