Throughout the year, our Residential Surveyors have been out all across Yorkshire and beyond, carrying out inspections on all types of properties, from city centre flats to a 9,000sqft grade II listed countryside estate.
It’s fair to say it has been a hectic year in the Residential Department at LHL, the year started strong due to the housing market continuing to be heavily supported by the UK Government through the Stamp Duty threshold increase. As a result of this we saw continued demand in Residential Surveys throughout the year.
The Stamp Duty relief began to be phased out in early summer, with the limit being lowered to £500,000, and then lowered further in September before being brought back to the original amount of £125,000 on October 1st. Throughout this period LHL continued to see high demand for Residential Surveys in York and beyond.
Entering the end of 2021, demand didn’t show any signs of slowing down even with the economic uncertainty and the reintroduction of Stamp Duty and the market looks to be in a strong position going into 2022.
