LHL undertook an appraisal of the existing roof structure and glazing over the China Landing in the main house following historic ongoing problems of leaking.
A new roof and glazing was designed by LHL and involved careful planning of the project to prevent damage to underlying fabric whilst the works were being carried out.
LHL acted as Project Manager and lead consultant on the project and also provided health and safety CDM services throughout the scheme.
The scheme was delivered to budget and completion to programme which was critical to the running of the house.
Our Conservation Consultant, Julie Cater, is an Approved Surveyor for the Church of England Wakefield Diocese and Surveyor to St Paul’s Church, Birkenshaw. This work involves dealing with Quinquennial and defect inspections as well as feasibility and project work.
Following high level inspection, re-roofing and high level repairs works incorporating thermal improvements, were specified and implemented. LHL Group have also provided advice in respect of grant aid and disabled access and CDM Co-ordinator services.
